 What is Steak

A steak is a thick piece of beef that is often cut across the muscle fibres and occasionally contains a bone. Typically, it is grilled or fried. Steaks can be made from a variety of animals, including as cattle, camels, goats, sheep, and deer, as well as fish, particularly salmon and big fish like swordfish, sharks, and marlin. These slices are frequently referred to as chops when they come from certain meats, like pork, lamb and mutton, chevon, and veal. Some cured meat, such as gammon, is usually served as steak.

    Taco-Rubbed Flank Steak

The American Heart Association has given its seal of approval to this recipe for taco-rubbed flank beef. Flank steak is sprinkled with traditional Mexican taco ingredients before being grilled or broiled.

That the American Heart Association includes flank steak in this dish is not surprising. Despite having very little fat, flank steak is one of the toughest beef cuts. However, there are workarounds available. The meat becomes more soft and has a richer flavour after being marinated. When grilling or broiling flank steak, be careful not to overcook it. The final restriction is to cut against the grain to lessen the chewy quality of this cut of meat.

    Ingredients:

    • 2 tablespoons chili powder

    • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

    For the Steak:

    STEPS TO MAKE IT

    Step 1:

    Step 3:

One medium lime should be squeezed over a flank steak before being rubbed into the meat.

    Step 4:

Apply the rub mixture all over the steak.

    Step 5:

Grill or broil a steak 5 to 6 inches from the fire until done to preference (about 5 minutes on each side for medium-rare to 15 minutes per side for well-done).
